actually if he could have only had health on his side..he was the most exciting player in the league in the 2006 playoffs..totally dominant.. before Schaeffer nailed him, sadly he really never recovered even though he had one decent season after that..just seemed to me he was always shying away from corners etc

Even before that hit Buffalo News writer Jerry Sullivan would mockingly refer to Connolly as Timmae. He was having a productive year at the time Schaeffer hit him but it was about time a 5th pick in a draft started to show his potential.

as soon as he went down I had a terrible feeling we might not win the cup..damn Timmy was rolling, he finally was living up to his potential, all seemed good for us to go all the way..then bam..still have to pinch myself that we lost in 2006

I was living in Vegas in 2006. I never missed Buffalo more than during that playoff run.

Connolly retiring is not news worthy.

Garth retiring from HB should be an AP article printed around the world.

Dear Lord and Savior,
Why does Garth continue to write this blog when he clearly doesn't have a basic understanding of the English language. His delusions about hockey notwithstanding, the real downfall of this blog is the stutter stepping prose and the vacuous scattershot point of view. Why should we read this drivel if he can't be bothered to proofread it?

You made the mistake of actually reading it. A good portion of us around here know better.

Yeah, I guess I've made that mistake too many times. I just don't understand why someone has a blog and is deficient in the ability to write well. I'm done with this clown.

never really thought of richards as a dirty player but how many players has he injured like that, head shots, like his hit on booth, justice after dirty bolland got him back. i only see bolland take run at guys when they are not looking....

How about Alexander "Hungry" Burrows

Or Ryan "Swan Dive" Kesler

Sad to see Canucks who represented the team the last few years move on in Torres and Lapierre, but I'm sure you can find a goon and some French loser somewhere.

And we don't even need to cover the Sedin sisters or Roberto "Backup Oh Wait" Luongo...

Canucks got their own clowns to worry about.
